@w @dielan Could be that he's right, but when your product is a principle, in this case the users keeping their privacy, appearances matter.
It's like if you see judges hanging out as friends with the mafia; maybe technically nothing wrong is happening... Maybe the judges would still be impartial when trying their friends. But do they really have to be friends? Maybe it's just circumstancial proof, but it still hints strongly at corruption.
This is basically how someone who would use DDG should feel seeing them cozying up with Microsoft.
