Got an e-mail from the local MLB team telling me that I need to install the MLB app in order to redeem the tickets I paid for. Inside the app, there will be a QR code used for admission.

    The only thing is:
    * I intentionally have no Google account, so I cannot install their app.
    * They did not make this process clear before I purchased the tickets. They surely had time to do so, given how many steps (and slow loading, RAM bloating steps at that) were required in the process.
    * I can get to the QR code page with a web browser on my laptop, but the phone's current IPv4 address is blocked by mpv\.tickets\.com.

Despite my lifelong enjoyment of !baseball, it is not essential. I can skip attending games from here on out or I can attend minor league teams' games. I'm calling the team to see whether they have a way for me to see the game I paid to see, but I won't make a habit of begging to see overpaid drug-users doing something that the rest of us would gladly do for free.

Applies to all professional #Sportsball: begging to see overpaid drug-users doing something that the rest of us would gladly do for free.

When I walked our dog we'd pass the local baseball field, and we'd stop and watch the game for hours. But the one time I went to a professional baseball match (Toronto Blue Jays in the Skydome) it was a profound disappointment. Couldn't really see the action on the field, lots of delays between plays, bombarded with advertising from all sides, and TOO LOUD!

Mind you, there's something charming and soporific about listening to a professional baseball game with an old-fashioned, laid-back announcer. But most of those have retired... #ASMR
