What would anyone do with a few acres of land for 30 years for that matters? It sounds more like a curse than a boon.

A straightforward one-time lump sum payment still is the best way do make reparations. Yes, some will spend it on frivolities, but it's frivolities that they may have bought anyway had their parents' and their grand-parents' work not been exploited by whites.
