I have the newer MacBook Pro with the MagSafe 2 charging port. After a freak order mistake where I received two chargers but no cable, I ran out of battery. As a last resort, a coworker offered their USB-C charging port, and it worked! Mind-boggled there are 3 + 1 charging ports.
