   The company has about 100 laptops here. Dell, i5 CPU, probably 6 years old. I'll ask for more detailed specs if anyone is interested.
   
   We're selling them off, wiped and reinstalled with a fresh vanilla Windows.
   
   They'll go for 100 HKD ~= 10 EUR. If you want one I can send it to you if you pay the shipping. That'd be like 30 EUR I guess to most of the world by surface parcel.
   
   IT said maybe they won't do it because of lack of interest, so I hope I can get some interest and they won't have to become e-waste. They're all in good shape, mostly used in a climate-controlled office for max 3 years before they went into storage in the same climate-controlled office.

      Amazing to see so much interest! I was just probing a bit to see if a handful of people might want one, haha.
      
      We've had a busy day at work, so I don't know the specs yet, I don't even know what the policy is, if they'll do something silly like "one per employee" or how I'll arrange all this, but I'll keep you all posted. I should know more later this week.

         Sorry, lots of end-year stuff. Will renew efforts next week when many people are already on leave but I know that I and the key people related to this are still working. =)

            The tiniest update: They are Dell Latitude E7470. Custom config:
            
            CPU: Some kind of i5
            Disk: Something on m.2, so SSD! That's cool.
            RAM: 16 GiB
            Screen: 14"
            
            So not one of the below configs, but the below will tell you weight, dimensions, etc:

            They're still working on where we can order them etc, but sounds like yes definitely 100 HKD and no upper limit per employee.
            
            Don't expect too much further update on this until after FOSDEM in February. Sorry that it's taking so long.

               Another non-update update. As I said above nothing will happen until after FOSDEM. I was just on a two-week trip to Aotearoa and now I'll go on a two-week trip to my parents and FOSDEM. I'll be working again from Feb 13th. If you see no update or non-update by Feb 18th feel free to poke me.

                  Non-update: Planning and objective-setting season is rough, especially when you stayed away during the first month of it! It's calming down and I'll start poking people this week. I want one of these babies too!

                  I recently acquired a large batch of both X230 and T440p, slightly cheaper than I usually get them, so I've passed that saving to customers.
                  
                  These are secure machines, with Libreboot (based on coreboot) which replaces proprietary BIOS/UEFI firmware.
                  
                  Your choice of Linux distro, OpenBSD or FreeBSD - if no request is made, I default to providing Debian Linux.

                     Ok, the team responsible are currently understaffed, so they are pushing this to Q3 for now. I'll check back on them in July. 😔
