> Starting from the 2019/20 school year, eligible female primary school students are provided with human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine under the Hong Kong Childhood Immunisation Programme (HKCIP).
Great! Now do it for boys too, so that they can help protect the girls, especially the girls whose parents didn't want them to get protected.

To save you a click, the scheme is to provide for free to girls in primary 5/6 and if you do it in private it's 3000 HKD β 7000 HKD (300 EUR β 700 EUR).

There's been an effort in the US to add HPV vaccination to the required list for all schoolkids around ages 11-12. It would be an easier sell if they included protection from other Papillomavirus species that are believed to be carcinogenic, so that it isn't just "take this shot to protect others" (now that we know how much opposition this brings), but "take this shot to protect yourself and others".

@LinuxWalt (@lnxw48a1) {3EB165E0-5BB1-45D2-9E7D-93B31821F864} Oh yeah, everyone is only talking about cervical cancer, I wonder if they are much more widespread and/or serious.
> In general, HPV is thought to be responsible for more than 90% of anal and cervical cancers, about 70% of vaginal and vulvar cancers, and 60% of penile cancers.
On the face of it, it does sound like these or the most common ones of these should all go in one shot.
