Transgender man detransitioning back to woman sues doctors for not insisting on alternate treatments before surgery.
The medical people likely face a tough situation. In the current social and political environment, patients face "transition now" pressures and doctors who propose a "go slow" approach face claims they are anti-trans / transphobic.
While I agree that less permanent steps should be considered before permanent steps, at some point, an adult patient needs to make their own decisions and to take responsibility for the decisions they made as an adult.

I'm pretty baffled that many people opting for "transitions" apparently have no grasp of the concept of self-responsibility. Sometimes it sounds to me, from afar, as if vast parts of the U.S. judiciary are deliberately designed to eschew personal responsibility and replace it with blame and restitution. As if the judicial system were desgined to keep people childish.
