    #1971 #song #1970s

I'm pretty sure this song was on "the tape". I sort of wish I could find it, even though I haven't had a cassette player in years.

Pretty sure Doby Gray's "Drift Away" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnDu1HHOo78 ... Bill Withers' "Lean on Me" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZ-MySzAac and something by James Taylor were also on the tape ... but I've already discovered an inconsistency.

According to the memories, the tape should date back to 1969 or 1970, but looking at the release dates of the songs, they seem to cluster in 1971 and 1972.

I think Bill Withers had two songs on the tape. I'm pretty sure "Ain't No Sunshine" (1972) was also on it. These songs were all recorded off of radio, so they were popular and on someone's list of favorites (possibly parents, older siblings, or the neighbor's teen girl who stayed with us for a while).
