When I was in junior high, I had a box where I kept issues of Superman, Batman, Shazam (at the time, formally called "Captain Marvel"), X-Men, and I think I had Spiderman too.

I bought them monthly at the 7-11 down the street. That all stopped when family fortunes changed and we moved to a new neighborhood.
