   Maybe it sounds incredible to American ears, but I was over 30 years old when I saw fresh corn for the first time, not canned, not pre-shucked, just a cob broken off its stem.

   We don't really have them in Sweden (unless they do these days), but here in HK it's common.

   It's super annoying. Those little hairs get everywhere in the kitchen.

      @clacke That is incredible to my ears (and probably anyone in North / Central / South America ... and maybe even the Caribbean islands). And this is an example of why it is good to communicate with people from other countries.
