I saw someone arguing that the moon was getting closer a decade or so ago, but my impression was always that it gets a tiny bit further away each year, even back in the Apollo space mission days.

I looked it up and it is getting further. $PERSON says it is an example of science changing its mind when it suits their purpose.

Huh? It's been receding forever, but I have known it since those days. https://nu.federati.net/attachment/290145
