I shoild probably note that I would not qualify to be called libertarian (neither "small L", as in holding those beliefs, or "large L", as in joining the party). I firmly believe in compulsory education.

Our society requires educated, knowledgeable, involved citizens attending city council meetings, school board meetings, and to some degree, attending state and federal legislative sessions. We require an educated workforce, as mining and farming employ far too few people to be relied upon.
