      Someone said Fight Club was incelesque and some people got angry.

      I linked to an interview where Palchuk agrees with the interviewer that incels liked Fight Club and I noted that the steps men doing manly things -> MGTOW -> incel aren't giant leaps.

         I wonder if the people with an enormous macho complex and strong feelings for Fight Club realize that Palchuk is gay and the club is based on experiences with men finding men in a homorepressive society.

         In my experience macho men tend to be homophobes but it's of course possible these guys are the outlier.

            @clacke I liked the Lethal Weapon and Die Hard movies, but I have never had the slightest desire to see Fight Club, not even to understand cultural references.

               It has about as much philosophy as Trainspotting. Not zero, not irrelevant, but not unique and not fundamental, it's just in tune with the zeitgeist and has some hard-hitting one-liners.
