Note that clarifications written outside the #ToS / #ToU and #Privacy_Policy of a site have no legal effect, while those documents do. If $SITE writes in their ToS that they have the right to activate your camera, but then clarifies in a blog post that they won't collect pics of you in your underwear, your protest that they collected images of you in your "BVDs":{https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BVD} is meaningless.

Of course, privacy policies are not worth the paper they are written on, as nearly every site reserves the right to change those policies at any time without prior notice, and once those policies change, the changes also apply to data collected under prior versions of their policies.
