As a work-from-home parent the vast majority of diet is made up of eating left-over food my kids don't finish. Most of this is very Carby and not-that-nuterious. Ideally, I'd get the kids to eat better stuff, but neither they nor my spouse are on board with that, and since they have been allowed to be our kids are very picky eaters.

Any other recommendations? Should I just throw away the uneaten food and waste it, and spend more on vegetables etc. for me only? Is there a better way to get the rest of my family to get on board with better eating habits while avoiding the family fight that feels as though it happens most times I've tried before? #Parenting #Kids #Diet #dieting #calorie

@fu As long as there's no agreement between the parents, you can't change the kids' eating habits. If you try, you'll just create strife.

But if you're the family vacuum you're also eating poorly. You're better off letting the food be thrown away (or put out for the neighborhood dogs or whatever hungry creatures roam your area at night).

Your doctor can probably refer you to a nutritionist or dietitian to help you plan what *you* eat better. They'll probably also want you to exercise, but I don't think medical insurance will pay for exercise advice or a health club / gym membership.
