I heard from trans people that, before they came out, social pressure to pick pronouns came across as pressure to either lie or come out. I used to be overt about my preferred pronouns till then, but took them down once I found that practice to be well meaning but oppressive. questions for title, without a "prefer not to say" choice, are just as oppressive. is there a gender-neutral honorary title to replace Mr/Mrs/Ms in English, BTW? Dr is gender-neutral, but not applicable very often. shall we adopt Japanese's -san?

@lxo I don't know of such a title in English, but whenever it is optional in a form, I just leave it blank.
