    I see lots of weird US right-wingers praising the German farmer protests ( https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/25371040/tractors-protest-farmers-germany-sick-man-europe/ ) ... but these are the very people who hate the idea of government subsidizing some favored group that isn't them, and the major point of anger appears to be loss of tax subsidies.

    Not to mention that I saw something about there being a court case which said the government could not continue the subsidies for some reason.

    Now having said all this, I'm very much aware that I don't know what is going on in Germany right now or understand the underlying social / political / economic dynamics that may be driving the protests. I just thought it was interesting that the US folks who seem to be most supportive of the protests would be protesting if some other (US domestic) group was given similar subsidies.
