    I deserve some decadence!

I have bought a piece of my favorite unhealthy bread, to enjoy tomorrow when I wake up, and I have bought some Swedish soft rye bread and a jar of elderflower marmalade, om nom nom.

My favorite decadent bread is Kee Wah bakery's pineapple bun with a touch coconut flavor.

Pineapple buns contain no pineapple, the name from the grid pattern on top ... which they no longer have. πŸ˜„

It's a fluffy white butter-dough bread with a sweet crust topping, kind of marsipan-y in texture. The Kee Wah one has a coconut flake butter filling.

What's a jam, a jelly or a marmalade seems to vary even between English-speaking countries, even more so outside the Anglosphere.

This elderflower marmalade is admittedly an orange and elderflower marmalade. It's a spreadable semi-solid orange concoction with orange peels, enriched with elderflower juice. Available at an IKEA near you.

IKEA also sells delicious elderflower juice concentrate. It's supposed to be mixed 1+4 with water, but I highly recommend mixing it 1+1+1 juice+water+gin for an invigorating summer afternoon lemonade.

Swedes go wild for elderflower. It wasn't until I had a German girlfriend that I learned that you can make a delicious compote out of the berries too.

In Sweden if you buy "flΓ€der" anything, it's always made from the flowers.

But it's not exclusive to Sweden. I've had a few Scottish elderflower ciders, which taste great too.

If you haven't tasted elderflower, I don't know how to describe it. It's a unique flavor, part harsh, part refreshing, a bit fruity.

In the Swedish view, jelly ("gelΓ©") is solid, blubbery, you can cut pieces of it, and it's just juice, no pieces of fruit in it. Jam ("sylt") is thick but liquid and has full berries in it, and marmalade ("marmelad") is a spreadable semi-jelly with just some solids in it, e.g. candied peels.
