    I mean, it's not like one can access anything private from a modern smartphone either. indeed, these portable telescreens are designed to control people, these authoritarian bureaucrats are just confused :-)
    joking aside, besides snooping, these tracking devices are immensely distracting. good could come out of being able to look up information in the classroom, but surveillance capitalism has spoiled most devices that could be used to that end, and teachers and kids don't stand a chance of competing with their attention-grabbing techniques developed by some of the smartest people in the world :-(
