Quoted anonymously because I do not want to hurt their feelings, to the question whether we’re the only intelligent life form in the Universe:

[…]the arrogance required to assume we're unique in the vastness of the universe seems deeply human to me.

I’d argue that mainly basing oneself on a perceived humanity trait to answer a question that has been asked so many times that we probably have a pretty good statistical model for it seems equally human to me.

Not saying they’re wrong, but the arrogant ones might not be wrong either just because they’re arrogant.
