I finally have braille and speech working as desired on the netbook, using Debian Buster. No braille from Thinkpad, no matter the distro. Still no speech from Buster's installer on Thinkpad. May have to break down and get some eyeballs on this one. The #a11y stack, in !trisquel is just too old.
