In lack of classes (I have taken pretty much all the fun stuff already) I have to take Fourier analysis. This shit is haaaard. I'm already behind, this is going to be a challenge. -

@rtsn solve the heat equation for a cubical potato and spherical one, taken from fridge, and placed in a pan of boiling water. -

@kat that pretty much sums up how I feel when dealing with this. but I think I'm slightly better (not hard) at boiling potatoes than analysis ;-) -

@rtsn I think I had that exact same question at school once. It was too practice using different coordinate systems in PDE's -

@kat Hehe good stuff. That stuff get messy very easily imo. I solve it in spherical coordinates a while back. I remember it being hard but very satisfying when I got everything to work out.

@kat are you doing any fun math these days? still into lambda calc? -

@rtsn I've just been playing at doing projecteuler questions, but using Haskell. Writing haskell feels a lot like doing math. -

@kat Cool! So you know Haskell? Been wanting to learn it for some time but every time I sit down and try I get stuck very fast, not sure where to start exactly. But I love it in theory with the connection to category theory and the curry-somehting(howard?) correspondence! -

@rtsn Don't really know Haskell, but after doing the lambda's in python, it started to make sense. Just doing some simple things. -

@kat looks cool and elegant, I HAVE TO look into this more. I wish the day had more hours... In conversation from gnusocial.de permalink
