Though Emacs is slow on Windows for some reason. Fast on GNU/Linux for me. -

@internetturtle If you use
ed the slow bit is the user rather than the program so response time doesn't matter ;-) (I still use ed occasionally when configuring something over a serial connection without a terminal emulator.)
