@kat At the time, a fair percentage of #DrWho fans were grateful to the Cybermen. What did you think of Kinda? http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Kinda_(TV_story)

        from Tardis
The Kinda were the humanoid inhabitants of Deva Loka. The Kinda were outwardly primitive but peaceful and enlightened. While not users of technology, they had an apparent understanding of DNA, glass work, and musical theory. They referred to outsiders as "the Not-We". A jester was designated to calm situations of potential conflict through mockery. Todd thought them to rarely gather in groups larger than three. Hindle took advantage of their simple nature by using a mirror to catch the...

@mjd I liked Adric! At least they cut the soundtrack on the credits.

@mjd After Adric died Nyssa's character started to seem quite wooden. Turlough is hardly likeable, and Tegan seems constantly annoyed.

That's the script editor, Eric Saward. He didn't know what to do with Tardis scenes, so he had people bicker to pad out episodes. Davison did his best to play against it; it gets much worse once he leaves. #DrWho

Producer JNT sincerely loved and believed in the show; he just didn't understand it, so was only really creatively involved in the staff christmas panto. The show lived or died on the merits of the script editor. #DrWho

Christopher Bidmead was brilliant at overseeing Tom Baker's last series, and commissioning for Davison's first. Saward fluked a run of good stories in Davison's last, but after that it was pretty dire till Andrew Cartmel turned it round for McCoy's last two years, which were effectively New Who on a fraction of the budget. #DrWho

@kat Yes, Nerys Hughes was the brilliant companion we never got. Worked so well with Davison's Doctor. #DrWho
