    @thor In Russian it's pronounced like "santim(y)etr". I never questioned origins of the prefix "santi-" but now I realise a more conventional way for Russian would be "tsentim(y)etr" like "tsentr" for "centre" or "tsentn(y)er" for "centner".
    I guess I didn't question it because English has a very similar kind of pronunciation.
