Does anyone still think that #Brexit is going to be a good thing ?

@kat I can’t imagine that it could be, but that’s from an American completely clueless of the ins and outs of it all.

There's absolutely nothing on the news in #Canada about #Brexit. I only know about it because I read the BBC news.

The CBC's "Politics, Analysis" category isn't exactly mainstream news reporting...

@kat I don't understand why opposition leader Corbyn didn't want to vote for quitting Brexit in parliament.

@mcscx @kat Labour voters are said to be split evenly between pro and anti Brexit, so Corbyn is just doing the thing likely to cause the least friction which is to go along with the referendum result.

@mcscx I think.. 1. Corybn is proBrexit, 2. Going against "The will of the people" (WTF that is) would be not politically expedient.

@kat IMHO the Brexit result was an accident. A that big change should require 2/3 majority. Just 52% of voters (not of people) is not enough

@mcscx You should have told Cameron, before had the idea. The roots go back at least to the Conservative party in the 1980's

ATM I agree with #Varoufakis that although the #EU is fundamentally undemocratic it's strategically wiser to try to reform it from within. The terms of Maastricht and the Fiscal Compact are appalling, but as #Corbyn is toeing the neoliberal fully-costed-and-fiscally-responsible line, for the foreseeable future any #UK government will act as though they apply anyway.
