    I've installed the Tox reference implementation app on my phone and will see what the battery performance is like. The functionality works nicely and this might work well with the mesh system.

    Tox has a lot going for it. It's extremely simple to use, and you couldn't transmit an unencrypted message with it even if you tried.

      @bob The only problem with it that I can't see any support for the old server which mapped names to tox IDs, know if that's still around?

        @tekk I havn't heard of that, although I did something similar with the mesh system which maps the avahi names to tox IDs.

          @bob It was around back in the day. It was literally "Hey, toss your tox ID into this web form and supply a user ID, when someone searches the ID on the site it gives them the tox ID". There were a couple clients which integrated it too. Tbh it'd be like, a couple minutes to implement
