@xahlee Only because their focus is on the iPhone and iPad. I think MacOSX is still a strong alternative to the latest Windows. -

@lnxw48a1 between mac and windows,
i absolutely love mac far more. It's technically better, ui is better, easier to use, and i'd trust apple more than microsoft. (but not that much for neither)i'd want to love linux... but it's a sad story there.

@xahlee I understand that desktop/laptop sales are declining, but IMO, a large part of that is Windows. Other than Win7, everything post XP has been horrible and many users are deeply confused about how to use their systems to do even the simplest tasks.

@xahlee Could be because they last so long. Have a 2009 iMac for general use and only now am feeling the need to upgrade (maybe).

@DrChris mac has always lasted long. i used to buy latest mac when it came out, and sell old on ebay. from 1999 to about 2006.
PC can't do that. Once bought today new, the price drops 50% next day.
but anyway, i was reading online news that apple sells dropped for some consecutive years...
but basically, mac market share is 10%, true in 1990 and still today.
