@rowan @kepstin Having auditable records is a good thing, and decentralization when it makes sense is a good thing, but tying those things to capitalist incentive structures is having unfortunate results in my opinion, and not even properly achieving the intended purpose (bitcoin tried to break away from centralized monetary authorities and is now majority-controlled by a tiny group of chinese corporations)

@kepstin @rowan A good use of blockchains would be, for instance, Keybase's way of storing identity proofs. They use blockchains to create an immutable audit trail for any changes to users' identity information, so anyone can verify it hasn't been tampered with.
