      @PakkonenCT Problem I have with most proposals like this is: "What are you doing about it personally?". What is the writer doing to seek out people that are lonely? Does he visit nursing homes? What about shut ins in his own neighborhood (if there are any)? The answer is probably nothing, but instead of doing that and organizing/encouraging others to do the same, others must be forced to pay and work to do what they could do voluntarily.

        @HiroProtagonist Its often a problem on the left - they take personal responsibility and bureaucratize it.
