@hushabunny Yeah, I just found out today about a free Linux version that I've been trying to get to run for most of the night. Back around 2010 it was 10k for the license another shitload of money for a Jesus computer and a Red Hat license. And something like 20k for their color grading control surface. The face that their giving away a version now blow my old man mind.

I learned to edit back in 2007 on an Avid system using S-VHS and Mini DV tapes. all in SD.Be glad your not using Avid. Avid hates you, Avid will make you bleed, Avid will punish you for the smallest mistake. The day I moved to Final Cut Pro was like being released from prison. Capturing tape is hours of boredom interjected with moments of sheer panic. I move to a solid state camera in 2013 and never looked back.
