I remember about 15-20 years ago, many of the people I interacted with online were talking about "Law Enforcement Key Escrow" ( #LEKE ). I noticed a few years ago and confirmed again today that I can find no references to this exact term (though I can still find some discussion about the idea of placing encryption keys in a place where police and national security can access them if and when needed).
It feels weird when history you personally observed is erased.

@lnxw48a1 This is another context but a lot of gay rights movement problems have been subject to similar historical loss, when they aren't the subject of historical revisionism, and I've had people flat out tell me events in the local community I was present for and witnessed firsthand never happened.
