    I mean, i get it's fantasy. i get the author is creating a world that is supposed to be violent and dominated by power struggles. i get that it's brilliant writing.

    what I don't get is the constant stream of acts of violence specifically meant to demean and diminish women in the story. they're reduced to props with little to no agency.

    if you can imagine a world with dragons, is it really so difficult to imagine a world where women are actual people?
