@detectivehyde @thatbrickster It is splitting, in some way, core Mastodon (if you can even call it that, Japanese Mastodon is much bigger now and runs it's own fork) is pushing forwards in efforts to change to a protocol that strictly doesn't federate with most existing instances. It'll isolate them off in their own bubble away from fediverse at large. 

Most people are so tired of the asshats, they just want them to hurry the fuck up and leave already.
