brennen@garbados @lucidiot java is and has always been terrible in many important ways, but i think in 2017 browsers are much more troubling than java ever was, because they are so much _better_ at what they do. they've bootstrapped us into the network-is-the-computer future that the heads at sun envisioned all those years ago, in a way that sun could never quite figure out how to get to.
unfortunately it turns out that the network-is-the-computer future sucks.
