If your ISP (especially Cox) wants to give you a modem/router combo, ACTIVELY REFUSE. Stuff doesn't work for crap.
If you're knowledgeable enough to buy your own modem and router, DO THAT. Their equipment sucks and won't get you the speeds you're paying for.
