    Traditionally, we wanted to seize the means of production.

    But we live in what is rocketing quickly towards a post-scarcity society in which most production is entirely automated, and pretty much anything can be mass produced with home equipment.

    I am of the opinion that, at this point, we need to seize the means of distribution, and take over media production.

      @ajroach42 There was a rant in the back of _Illuminatus!_ ("Appendix Teth: Hagbard's Pamphlet", IIRC) about how control of mass communications media was more useful to the State than the Weberian monopoly on the legitimate use of force, but it had to be the _current_ most popular mass communications medium (television, at the time).
