Tek dba Tek@dpreacher I think you're ascribing motivations to me that I didn't have. I wasn't asking you do defend your requirements. I was asking what they were in case I knew of something that might help you.
Also, turns out you can edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config and set "PermitRootLogin yes". I just tried it and was able to SSH into my laptop as root.
