      as a watchdog of futurism since 2000, i think we can declare 2017 is the milestone. Maybe not to singularity, but something.

        when tech is advancing too fast, it's ok when society is stable. It's disastrous when unstable. And, western human society are very unstable now.

          @xahlee There is a useful (and healthy) distinction between what is promulgated by a corrupted & inhuman "politico-media complex" and how people actually behave / interact with each other outside of the misrepresenting glare of the social engineers.

          Western society was arguably MORE unstable exactly 100 prior.

          The instability is in the elite power structures that project themselves onto the population.

          Current rejection of globalism is a natural response by rational individuals.
