   The dilemma of having an old encrypted hdd lying around to which I don't remember the password but I haven't wiped in vain hope that I one day magically should remember the password. On the other hand if I just gave up and wiped it then I could actually use the damn thing.

      @rtsn That's why I kept my bitcoin wallet around for a long time. It's worth $1000 now; never did remember the password.
