      HookTube is neat, but it still requires javascript. :-( If you don't mind using Android, you can try NewPipe -- a free software YouTube client that only scrapes YouTube web pages to extract data. https://newpipe.schabi.org/

         @arunisaac I use Newpipe myself too. But it doesn't mask your IP like this platform does. I still like it since you can download the videos

            To hide your IP, you could use NewPipe over Tor.
