Technology itself doesn't make the world any better. What matters is what people do with it.

So far technology has increased the productivity of human workers by incredible amounts, and yet instead of yielding shorter workdays and workweeks, it just changed employers expectations of productivity. More more more, for the sake of the production, not the sake of the people.
