arunisaac (arunisaac@social.systemreboot.net)'s status on Monday, 25-Dec-2017 18:02:14 EST arunisaac Cleaning up my emacs configuration... I used to be annoyed with emacs' often senseless defaults and the amount of configuration necessary to make it work decently. But, I have slowly come to understand and appreciate that !emacs is really a toolkit of parts for you to assemble yourself an editor. Everybody's emacs is different, and that's great! Other editors and IDEs might help people "get the job done" or be "productive", but I guess I don't really want to be productive -- I totally enjoy hacking emacs and don't mind doing it even if it steals some time from "useful work"! :-) In conversation from social.systemreboot.net permalink -
