@licho #Mastodon 3.x and #Pleroma 2x no longer speak the #OStatus federation protocol. !GNUsocial 2.0 will add the #ActivityPub federation protocol, so ask your admin to be ready to upgrade soon.
@aktivismoEstasMiaLuo 1) This doesn't answer the question, which is how to use a free code front-end to read content others have put in the FB silo.
2) It really isn't. All #Diaspora can do is public and private posts, and photo uploads. #Friendica, #Hubzilla, or #Zap would be better recommendations for replacing the features people use FB for. They have events calendars and groups, and all federate over #ActivityPub, which Diaspora devs are still refusing to even consider. @paulakreuzer
Under marked otherwise, all posts from this account are #CC#BYSA 4.0. Unless I send a DM, I want all my posts publicly visible, to any web browser, and any other user app or archival/ research system that speaks #ActivityPub (and ideally #Diaspora and #Zot too). I'm happy for them to be indexed by any search system and included in any relevant search. That's why I publish them on the web with Mastodon. When I want to have private discussion, I use DMs. One day the AP-verse will do this better.
Good question. Maybe GNU #Taler could be useful here? It's designed to accept payment in a number of forms, while protecting the #privacy of the payer. Clicking the 'contribute' button could trigger a transaction on a Taler instance on the same server.
♲ @dajbelshaw@mastodon.social: Hey all, we've got a small budget for @moodlenet security/privacy consulting. Would appreciate pointers to anyone with the chops (including #ActivityPub experience) who might be able to help audit our repos in the next few weeks/months 🙂
♲ @humanetech@mastodon.social: There is a #github issue for #ForgeFed federation in #gitea but the devs want feedback before adding #ActivityPub #fediverse support:
1. Who wants this feature? Personal gitea user / Companies with private gitea / Git hosting website via gitea or others?
Back in September, before @moodlenet even tested federation, they released a User Agreement and a Covenant for Instance Administrators, which contains very sensible rules around respecting users and protecting minorities / commonly persecuted groups.
This federated #ActivityPub project for sharing educational resources sets a great example. If you are developing a decentralised project on which you expect people to interact, please follow their lead! 💚
There are a couple of other federation servers written in Go, including #GoFed . I'm just wondering if it would be possible to re-use some of their code to implement ActivityPub, so you can move on to writing the code specific to fediQuest?
https://epicyon.net is an #AGPL licensed #ActivityPub protocol compliant federated #social#network server suitable for hosting a small number of accounts on low power systems requiring minimal maintenance, such as single board computers. It's the ActivityPub equivalent of an email server, storing posts as human readable #JSON on file, rather than in a database. It also uses only a small amount of RAM.
@hyde_stevenson It depends on your perspective. Sure, both softwares want to organize communiities aroud events.
But #GetTogether looks oriented to corporate users (a la #MeetUp) and idk where they landed on their economic model.
We want to orient #Mobilizon towards facebook users that organize their activities and activisms there, and we are funded only through small donations.
Both will be interoperable through #ActivityPub, though.
Test de #SubMirror sur mon instance herds.eu (mise en miroir de mon compte Mastodon sur mon compte GNU social) maintenant que les deux supportent #activitypub
