Browser tool aims to help researchers ID malicious websites, code
      from ScienceDaily
Researchers have developed an open-source tool that allows users to track and record the behavior of JavaScript programs without alerting the websites that run those programs. The tool, called VisibleV8, runs in the Chrome browser and is designed to detect malicious programs that are capable of evading existing malware detection systems.

Back in 2018, #Chrome, #Safari, #Firefox and #Edge announced they would deprecate TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 support in January 2020.

I set security.tls.version.min=3 in Firefox, it helps spot websites not supporting TLS 1.2+.

Two questions come to my mind:

    1) Is this schedule still up-to-date or do the editors decided to step back (can't find something more recent than a few years ago)?

    2) Is there a similar schedule to deprecate unencrypted HTTP (more recent than 2015 with no schedule)?

    Thanks!

Goodbye, Chrome: Google’s web browser has become spy software

Our latest privacy experiment found Chrome ushered more than 11,000 tracker cookies into our browser — in a single week. Here’s why Firefox is better.

Basically when you use #Chrome/ium this allows Google to track you for any site using this "feature" and you won't even know it nor can you easily prevent it. [2/3]

@infosechandbook This is a good reminder about network-level ad and tracker blocking.

Nevertheless, everyone should still delete #Chrome, and do their best to also block this junk with browser plug-ins and other methods..

@amic The bad thing about #Flash being bundled in #Chrome, #Edge, #MSIE is that users don’t even know they have it until they try #Firefox and wonder why videos & animations on some sites don’t work.

I would love to see all major browsers completely block all Flash months ahead of their schedules.

#UngoogledChromium is a nice, quiet relaxing browser experience. Worth trying if you're a #Chrome user.

(I can only use it for single-tab sessions because it still doesn't implement MRU tab order for tab switching...)
