    Meine Güte: Warum bitte muss die Ankündigung der neuen Version von #elementary-OS direkt über medium-com erfolgen? Die Liste von Features ist erst zugänglich wenn man sich wieder durch allerlei "Entschuldigung, aber wussten Sie bereits?"-Meldungen und Aufforderungen sich doch mittels #Facebook und #Google-Plus gewühlt hat. Danach habe ich schon kaum noch Lust mehr mir durchzulesen was denn wirklich Neues und Interessantes - einmal abgesehen davon, dass die Distribution auch wieder zu viele Kompromisse eingeht - mit dem Release verfügbar ist.

    Warum verfasst ihr denn bitte keine Meldungen direkt über eure Webseite, Team hinter der Distribution? Das erscheint mir weitaus sinnvoller als sich vollends auf irgendwelche proprietären Lösungen zu verlassen und noch dazu, dass ihr selbst dort allerlei Quellen von #Fuck-Off-Google einbindet. Aber nun ja: Das ist das Problem mit dem pragmatischen Ansatz von "Open Source" und der Unterschied zu "Free Software". Ersterer geht suggestiv vor und ist bei genauer Betrachtung eben nicht mehr so offen. Letzterer stellt dem Nutzer / der Nutzerin eine freie Wahl und Entscheidung zur Verfügung. #Stop-Playing-Bullshit

    I'm trying to make a new #Facebook account to communicate with friends who use the platform extensively and won't use anything else, but I keep getting caught in the spam trap and challenged with captchas and the like. I'm doing this in a virtual machine that's only used for this purpose - Firefox ESR, updated but otherwise bare of plugins, etc. Does anybody know pointers / tips & tricks to making a FB account without getting repeatedly blocked for verification? I need this to evade harassment.

    @FssOfDeath You would, indeed, probably guess ny reasons correctly. 😄

    #facebook has no regard for their users' security or privacy.

    They also have no regard for democracy, as they happily took money from anyone -- no questions asked -- for political ads and to provide data on users. It later was confirmed that the Russians were buying those ads, and setting up many fake users and groups as well.

    The platform is also a massive time-waster, encourages narcissism, and ugliness.

    Na hurra: Die #FSFE hat #GNU-social aus den möglichen Optionen zum Teilen von Inhalten und Veröffentlichungen entfernt. Jetzt sind dort nur noch #Mastodon und #Diaspora vorhanden, neben #Facebook, #Twitter und #Google-Plus. Ersteres finde ich mehr als nur bedauerlich, Letzteres ist aber eine absolute Bankrotterklärung und der obligat schlechte wie auch faule Kompromiss. #Stop-Playing-Bullshit

    @amaz1ng @anonnewsde Wenn das für dich wichtig ist, in Ordnung und klasse. Aber hinsichtlich #Netzpolitik bin ich persönlich so oder so inzwischen mehr als nur kritisch eingestellt. Denn das Portal funktioniert mehr oder minder wie der Spruch "Wasser predigen aber Wein saufen!". Immer wieder wird die Eskalation in Sachen "Datenschutz" gepredigt. Ja, sie stimmt absolut. Aber die Leute, die sie predigen nutzen was? Genau: #Facebook, #Twitter, #YouTube und #Google. Also genau das Gegenteil davon und bis heute hat Niemand auf Einladungen aus der #Federation respektive dem #Fediverse wirklich redagiert. Und hinsichtlich #Anonymous: Jeder kann sich entsprechend zu diesem "Kollektiv" bekennen oder eben nicht. Da ist kein gesellschaftspolitischer Hintergrund vorhanden und somit meines Erachtens auch keine wirkliche Aussage außer weitere "Eskalation".

    In Summe wie gesagt: Freue mich auf deine Ausführungen, aber bitte nicht als Reaktion auf diese "Eskalation" durch genannte Quellen. Selbige verdienen diese Aufmerksamkeit nur bedingt, meiner Meinung nach.

    @haydar Was ich bei den Organisationen wie der EFF immer wieder erstaunlich finde ... die Kontaktmöglichkeiten. Dort befindet sich dann neben #Twitter, #GooglePlus und #Youtube auch das werte #Facebook? Warum? Wir wären heute schon weiter und weitaus weniger zentralistisch, wenn einfach Organisationen für Datensicherheit, Freiheit und Privatsphäre nicht stetig jeden ihrer eigenen Artikel mittels generischer Fusszeile konterkarieren würden. Aber bei Rückfrage heißt es dann ja immer: "Um die noch nicht Erreichten erreichen zu können." Das wiederum marginalisiert doch komplett den eigenen Anspruch wie auch die Wertigkeit der Botschaft. Warum sollte "Mensch" dann wechseln, wenn FSF, FSFE und EFF beispielsweise dennoch jeden "Eimer Wasser" gesondert hinterhertragen?
