@pixelfed good for you. Decentralization is good :) Maybe to encourage this, #fediverse server software could build in a default limit on the number of registered users (eg #DunbarsNumber)? This would need to be transparent to the server admin, and easy for them to change, but I think it would be good to seed the idea.

I don't want to read every post from the people I'm following. It's too much for me.

But I want to read all their good ones. The ones that are important to them. The ones they wish more people would read and understand.

I want a system that respects people equal, doesn't matter their amount of follower. And for shure one that is anti-clickbaits.

With only a chronological timeline all this remains impossible.

Would you which to have something developed that makes it possible?

@jgmac1106 to be fair, those 10 websites spread the most "fake news" because they are largest hosts of user-generated content. If all the users of those 10 websites moved to the #fediverse, then that would become the largest online source of "fake news". It's worth remembering that long before the web #BBS, #UseNet, and #IRC communities were sources of "fake news", and before the net, it came from tabloids, fringe magazines (like #Nexus), zines, samizdat pamphlets, and so on. It's not new.

One of the things I'd like to see produced from the #OpenAppEcosystem group is a comprehensive map of all the ethical tech organizations and projects, and how they relate to each other. Which orgs and mainly lobbyists vs. tech stewards? Which projects have similar goals, how are they different? What tech can and could inter-operate? This is kind of what I've been trying to do for the #fediverse, with the wiki that informs fediverse.party development. But mapping ethical tech in general is huge.

@deejoe @alexl imagine how much work could have been saved in building the #fediverse if FB or the birdsite released their whole server stack under AGPL.
