    @LWFlouisa well ... Natural News started posting on Diaspora a while back, and that doesn't seem to have done much damage. I feel like we are developing tools for sidelining trolls and griefers on the #fediverse that just aren't possible on the #DataFarms, for both legal and technical reasons, but it takes time to roll them out and educate people on how to use them well.

    @LWFlouisa one of the main arguments Ive heard against using #ActivityPub to federate code forges (as proposed by #ForgeFeb) is that it risks opening them up to spammers and griefers. As we've seen in the #fediverse, not everybody follows the Bill and Ted Principle ("be excellent to each other") on federated platforms ;)

    #howto use the #fediverse with nearly no internet connection with #AndStatus:
    Choose in the settings:
    - to not fetch images
    - to not fetch avatars
    - increase the time of sync
    Now next time you got internet connection, even if shitty as ~1kbs you can let AndStatus sync.
    Also no problem if internet connection is just accessible for some minutes.
    Messages get stored offline. You can read, fav., boost, and reply to them any given time. Once you've got internet again even you're replies will be sync.
