Recommend me !fediverse instances that: * have minimal block lists (only blocks spam; doesn't block controversial content or NSFW) * doesn't look like a copy of twitter
Bonuses are: * sane admin * neutral domain name * both activitypub and ostatus support * good dark theme
I too am with Canadian ISP #Teksavvy. I checked my bill last month, and was surprised to find it less than I expected. Apparently they lowered prices around November 2019. A couple of years ago they upgraded to unlimited/month at no charge. No way I'm ever changing! (is #Teksavvy somewhere in the !Fediverse?) /cc @guizzy
!gnusocial !fediverse How does instance blocking work? For example, if I'm on an instance that doesn't block, but one of my followers is. What happens if I retweet something from a blocked instance?
What if cell #phone carriers only let you talk/text with people on the same carrier network? Everyone would need to carry 4 different sim cards, similar to having multiple accounts.
Sounds terrible? Good. That's what #Facebook is doing now.

@clacke Consider if WebFinger lets you lookup URIs. This means if the URL is unavailable (domain expired etc.) data is still stored in the hive mind of the !fediverse. You wouldn't have to contact the original server, any server that had received the object would do. Wouldn't that be nice?
