I remember not so long ago reading an article (perhaps in response to The Martian) lamenting that one of the things sci-fi always gets wrong are form-fitting space suits. Those are not possible, it said, because of pressurization blah blah blah. Now, just a few years later this is already in development:
Whoever the author was, they've now joined a long line of people who said some concept or another was impossible only to be proven completely fully of shit. Basically, naysayers can suck it.

The disease was spreading. The vision in his left eye was unfocused and dull. Left unchecked, the disease will take his vision, mobility and, ultimately, his life. He couldn’t allow that to happen - he still had work to do.
The recipe for an elixir to slow the effects of his illness was rumored to be inscribed in the Old Tomes hidden within the Collapsed Ruins.
He must find it.

I read that Anthony Mackie is taking over the role of Takeshi Kovacz in season 2 of Altered Carbon. I'm not sure if Joel Kinnaman was unavailable, or if they made this change by design, but in either case it's cool to see a show about people who can change bodies change actors for their lead characters too.

So I'm watching this Chinese #SciFi/disaster blockbuster! I don't know if I should continue. It's so incredible bad, but I also like the fact this is a Chinese #scienceFiction film and I've never saw one.

@lj_writes I'm up to season 5. From memory, I didn't get to see the whole series the first time around , either due to life issues, or the irritating habit of TV programmers in #NZ to can #SciFi shows half way through their run, despite massive blowback from fans. I'm tempted to give #Enterprise another crack, since I remember being sceptial about #TNG in the first season, and #Discovery has improved significantly in its second season.

Lately I've found a hidden gem of early science fiction literature. "Two Planets" by Kurd Lasswitz(1897). I had never expacted a story like this comming from germany at that time.
